Great multimedia training opportunities coming to UNC

Interested in becoming a Flash guru, or getting a comprehensive understanding of multimedia storytelling? SND’s multimedia workshop and UNC’s multimedia bootcamp are two great opportunities for you to fine-tune skills, or to get your feet wet if you are a newbie. The best part is that these awesome workshops are held in Chapel Hill, NC, so you can take me out for coffee while you’re here!

SND Multimedia Workshop comes to UNC
The Society for News Design’s popular Multimedia Workshop is making a stop at the University of North Carolina on February 6-7. Both the Beginning and Intermediate Flash workshops will be offered.
More information and Registration

I took the intermediate Flash workshop when I was first learning Flash, and it amazed me how much ground they covered in two days. We also got to keep all of the source code, which was heavenly when I wanted to incorporate their tricks into future projects. I highly recommend these courses!

UNC offers Multimedia Bootcamp for Journalists
The original UNC Multimedia Bootcamp returns Sunday, May 17 – Friday, May 22, with an all-new format that blends hardware and software training with storytelling concepts and project-planning skills that will prepare participants for all aspects of multimedia production. Participants will go hands-on to collect and edit content, which they will use to produce a full-featured multimedia presentation.
More Details and Registration

MediaStorm’s Brian Storm will be the keynote speaker, with a slew of other great journalists teaching the workshop. I have had the opportunity to work and/or learn from all of faculty, so I can personally say that you will learn a TON from these talented professionals!
