Honduras: dispatches from the field

Hello from Honduras! I wanted to update everyone on my work here in southwestern Honduras and point you to my project page and blog on The Pulitzer Center’s Website. They just finished building it late last week, so now I can continually post my updates there.

I have been here for two weeks thus far, and have spent my days either gathering content from the field or at my lodging editing photos and videos.

I live right next to the medical clinic, so I have witnessed a machete attack, two births, and other various cases. I’ve done home visits to some of the poorest in the area and seen dogs and chickens roam around a one-room hut housing a family of six. I have conducted numerous interviews with health professionals, volunteers and locals about the state on malnutrition.

It’s been an amazing journey so far and who knows what the next three weeks will hold. I encourage you to read my blog posts and provide feedback on my reporting. What else should I be looking at … what questions do you want answered?

Thanks so much and I will be back blogging late July. Until then, enjoy the guest bloggers and please show your appreciation for them as they are helping me to keep II afloat!
