Globe and Mail leaves me speechless with “Behind the Veil”

Globe and Mail has done it again … their latest package “Behind the Veil” extends the potential for multimedia and leaves its viewers in awe. The series is unfolding throughout the week, so make sure to bookmark this site to experience it in its entirety next weekend. However, in the mean time, check out their first story, “Back behind the veil,” and admire the beautiful full browser presentation.

I love their elegant controls on the right side of the screen, allowing people to quickly share, comment and embed this story. I was curious what the embed would be, so I used it for this blog post. I was extremely impressed when I saw that they had designed and programmed a promo widget – it is something I have never seen done before, but is such a great complement!

The content is almost endless, with six main stories in the series, as well as 10 subject interviews, a timeline, a roundtable audio webcast, a photo gallery, a glossary of terms, and so much more.

I can’t begin to imagine how much time and effort went into this piece, but I am extremely impressed with the final product. Job well done Globe&Mail producers … what great inspiration to start off our week!
