In June we happily welcomed Tim McLaughlin who will be blogging semi-monthly on topics related to multimedia journalism. I finished up my thesis for my MSIS degree and have already begun my MBA curriculum at Kenan-Flagler Business School. As I delve into Finance and Accounting during the day, I will continue to peruse the best of multimedia at night. And, now that I have a solid team of writers and editors, I am extremely excited for what lies ahead. I hope you are as well!
As May quickly comes to an end, we are already revving up for an exciting June with announcements of two more contributors – more on that to come soon. We received some excellent feedback from our annual survey and we have already implemented many of your suggestions. As a funny side note: Half of you love our name and the other half can’t say the same – don’t worry, we also have a love-hate relationship with it!
We have lots of exciting news to share here at II: Our traffic this month nearly doubled compared to last month, we are thrilled from the response so far of our recent survey, and we are proud to introduce our newest biweekly contributor to help us tackle the coverage of multimedia within the educational sector.
Happy last day of March everyone! This past month we happily welcomed II non-profit contributor Ellen Peck, and we are eager to publicly announce our second contributor soon, who will focus on the presence of interactivity and multimedia within the educational sector. It is evident from the “Top Five” this month that II readers are most interested in internship and job opportunities. Look for our April installment featuring latest jobs tomorrow! As always, please let us know if there is ever anything you want us to cover. We are actively accepting guest bloggers as well as one other contributor in the advertising/marketing field.
We started the beginning of February with two new site features: the events calendar and people directory. We ended the month with the introduction of our online multimedia store, where we have pulled relevant products from Borders, Amazon, Adobe, B&H Photo Video, and more into our store for your convenience. I’m already excited for what March has in store. Thanks for supporting us, and please continue spreading the word about II to your friends and colleagues!
Thanks to everyone for a great month. It was the first time that we saw visitors from every state in the U.S. We also expanded into 15 new countries, for a total of 118. Our Argentinian visitors stayed the longest, and those from Spain read the most. We love seeing the continual growth, so welcome everyone and please feel free to introduce yourselves!
Thanks for a great month everyone. Make sure to fan our new Facebook page to get continual updates on job openings, multimedia events, and other interesting links we come across. Our new series, Innovative Individuals, has been a great addition to the blog as we continually receive nominations of deserving professionals. Keep them coming and please continue to spread the word about II!
I am thrilled to announce that October was the best month yet for II. Two years after this blog launched, we are now delivering bilingual content to more than 1,000 people each and every day (via site visits, RSS readers, and email subscriptions). Thanks to everyone who spends a little of your day with us, and please continue to spread the word about II!
I am happy to announce that II recently turned two. I celebrated the completion of the first year by moving II to WordPress. I decided for the second year that we shall celebrate by giving something away! One copy of Steve Krug’s exceptional book “Don’t Make me Think” is up for grabs. In order to be eligible, all you have to do is tell me your favorite II post in the comment section (and you will make me even happier if you tell me why …). Deadline is Monday at 9am, October 5th when I will then randomly select a winner from the list.
I can’t believe it is already almost September. II has had a great month, thanks to everyone out there. I really appreciate you all visiting and spreading the word. And, as always, please email me ideas, projects, and suggestions for future posts – I love hearing from you!
