Presentación de la charla multimedia en DC Shootoff

Over the weekend, I was honored to give a talk at DC Shootoff, a photography workshop for DOD, GOV, and federal photographers and mass communication specialists. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the other speakers, including Washington Post photographer Michael Williamson and multimedia producer Megan Rossman, freelance photographer Mary Calvert, and Apple spokesperson Martin Gisborne. My talk focused on how photographers can transition to multimedia production (and sepcifically video),and I have uploaded my slides here for your viewing pleasure.

Tom Kennedy habla acerca de su evolución como periodista visual

Former managing editor for multimedia at The Washington Post Tom Kennedy recently gave a talk at The Knight Center for International Media at the University of Miami. Thankfully, the talk was videotaped, and it was recently uploaded for your viewing pleasure. I only caught the last half when it was covered live last Wednesday, so I went back and watched the first half tonight. I highly recommend putting it on in the background while you answer your morning emails, or while you eat lunch. His thoughts on digital media are right on and his advice is not to be missed!

If you don’t follow me on twitter and/or del.icio.us (which you should, by the way!) you probably haven’t heard that yours truly will be speaking about multimedia innovation at API’s one day workshop in Montgomery, Alabama on April 3rd. I will be covering strategies for multimedia storytelling for news organizations and how to best prepare and equip your team for large-scale packages. My talk will be followed by two other professionals, and then end with a Q&A panel. If you are in the area, make sure to attend!
